AF AMFRI Farms produce being sorted

AMFRI Farms Ltd

Organic agri-export · Uganda
$1.3M facility

AMFRI grows, processes and exports certified organic fruit, vegetables and spices to the EU, the USA and the UAE. It farms six sites and buys from 560 certified smallholder farms. It had no processing plant near the Entebbe cargo hub, so it lost margin on every shipment. MMOF invested with Yield Fund Uganda, then put its own people on the accounts, the marketing and the sales.

Co-investment Co-investor: Yield Fund Uganda 300 employees 560 out-grower farms
Result: plant built near the cargo hub. Planned capacity, more than double the previous operation. Read the case
EP Egg Production Uganda farm buildings

Egg Production Uganda Ltd

Poultry and eggs · Uganda
Service-backed loan

EPL is an egg farm in Mityana District, Central Uganda. Women's Bank, part of the FCA Group, started it in 2019 and set a target of 25,000 layers. COVID-19 closed the economy, made every member of staff ill, stopped the construction and cut the egg price. MMOF did not simply restructure the debt. The loan came with production planning, financial management and a route into the premium market.

Service-backed loan Amount not disclosed Sponsor: Women's Bank, FCA Group 25,000 layer target
Result: turnaround complete. EPL now sells premium eggs on longer-term contracts. Read the case
SR Sakami Ranches coffee estate

Sakami Ranches Ltd

Coffee and tree crops · Kenya
Direct investment

Sakami is a family farm near Kitale, started in 2004. It holds its own grower export licence and sells directly into Europe. The coffee price moved too much from year to year, and unreliable water cut the yield. MMOF funded more than 100 new acres, two reservoirs and solar pumps, then rebuilt the analysis behind the crop mix.

Direct investment Amount not disclosed Established 2004 Coffee, macadamia, avocado
Result: three crops instead of one, over 100 acres added, and 100+ women in the peak season. Read the case
