Companies
Each of these companies was already turning a profit when we met them. We brought capital, an operating team, or both. Across the portfolio, 4.8 million euro is now at work and 224 people are on the payroll.

AMFRI sells organic fruit, vegetables and spices to Europe, the USA and the UAE. It had no processing plant near the Entebbe cargo hub, so it lost margin on every shipment. We financed the plant with Yield Fund Uganda and put our people on the accounts, the marketing and the sales.

EPL was 18 months into a build toward 25,000 layers when COVID-19 arrived. The economy closed, staff fell ill, construction stopped and the egg price collapsed. We did not only restructure the debt. We restructured the business, and attached the capital to an operating mandate.

Sakami is a family farm near Kitale with its own export licence and direct sales into Europe. The coffee price moved too much and unreliable water cut the yield. We funded more than 100 new acres, two reservoirs and solar pumps, and rebuilt the analysis behind the crop mix.
